Because of how wide the variance is with PSA on what qualifies as a "10.0", you'll find a lot of cards graded PSA 10 that are really BGS 9.5. And thus BGS 9.5 (10,10,9.5,9.5) should be greater than a PSA 10 simply because you really know their are at least two 10 sub grades.

Besides, is a BGS 9.5 a PSA 10?

The appeal most have to buying a PSA 10 (as opposed to a BGS 9.5) is the "hope or potential" of it being a 10. Because of how wide the variance is with PSA on what qualifies as a "10.0", you'll find a lot of cards graded PSA 10 that are really BGS 9.5.

Subsequently, question is, what does BGS 9.5 mean? Anything above a 9 is worth book value or greater, as BGS 9 (known as a "Mint 9") is the condition expected of the card out of the pack. A grade of 9.5 is Gem-Mint, which is a card that is nearly flawless. This is the condition most collectors want. Then there is a "PRISTINE 10" which is the holy grail of cardboard.

Also question is, what is better BGS or PSA?

PSA slabs scan better than BGS slabs

Because the labels are dark bronze on a BGS 9.5, they don't scan very well on some scanners. They look dark and make it difficult to read the label. If you want to see some of the best scanners for scanning graded trading cards check out the list here.

Are PSA 9 cards worth buying?

Depends on the card, some 9'a raise the price a decent bit. 8's usually end up being around the ungraded NM/M price, 7's and lower start trending downwards on the ungraded NM/M price. Overall, I'd say no. From what I've seen in the past few years of buying graded cards, PSA 9's don't move in price.
