Does GameStop have tax?

Thereof, does GameStop charge tax on gift cards?
Many of the major players, like Amazon and Target, clearly state: "No sales tax is charged when purchasing gift cards; however, purchases paid for with gift cards may be subject to tax." GameStop is a repeat offender, perhaps because it doesn't consider prepaid Xbox cards to be the same as gift cards (they are).
Also, do you pay tax for gift cards? If you bought a gift card for a specific dollar amount, you don't pay tax on the gift card. The tax is charged when the card is used to buy a taxable item. For example, you would pay tax on a jacket you buy with a gift card.
Secondly, does GameStop charge tax on pre orders?
GameStop has NEVER charged for pre-ordering. All they are taking is a DOWNPAYMENT. That money will be counted towards your purchase when you pick it up. At my local store a game is typically $59.99 before tax, $65.00'ish afterwards.
How much longer will GameStop last?
Major gaming retailer GameStop says it will be closing "between 180 and 200 underperforming stores" in the next six months. That statement comes following 195 store closures in the last 12 months and what the company says it expects will be "a much larger tranche of closures over the coming 12 months to 24 months."
